Helston Flora Day
Every Year around May 8 the main local town of Helston celebrates Flora Day, it's main historic festival.
read about it here http://www.bbc.co.uk/cornwall/places/places_features/
This year the weather got pretty poor in the afternoon, although I should think the Noon Dance got around alright.
I took my son out for the afternoon, we went to Hendra holiday park near Newquay, it's a nice tidy, modern site that is quite quiet still at this time of year. We went for the large indoor pool which I'd seen on the web. It's OK for kids, best for the older ones or teenagers, I'd say.

Why Pilotbloke?
Why Pilotbloke?
It came from my first Lynx flight pilot job around 1996 when I was crewed with the legend that is Windsor Davies, of Daily mail fame. We aviator types all need a nickname and I didn't want to be Ginger! (although it IS WWII classic...) Chewbacca had to go when I shaved off my beard and Jon Barry, my cabinmate and DIVO/OOW3 at the time on HMS Richmond, coined it as he was useless with names . It's simple, it's classy and I kept it, then along came the internet and 12 years later - a blog called Pilotbloke's Things was born.
